What the Association does hands-on

Six areas of work. Each has its own status: what is already under way, what is in preparation, and what is done case by case by decision of the Council.

Mentoring

Ongoing

A graduate guides a cadet or a younger class.

Mentor–mentee pairs are matched by specialty and city. A mentor needs to give about an hour a month: a conversation about admission, the first year of service, choosing a specialty. It is the lowest-cost and most visible way to take part.

Admission

Ongoing

Reviews and contacts for military and civilian universities.

Graduates who got into military universities in Kazakhstan and abroad, Nazarbayev University, KBTU and KazNTU answer questions from those taking the same path now. Questions are asked in the Association’s feed, and the answers stay available to future classes.

Take part

Class reunions

In preparation

An annual reunion in Almaty and meet-ups in other cities.

A general reunion once a year, plus local meet-ups wherever enough graduates have gathered. Dates and format are set by the Coordination Council; announcements go to registered members.

Jobs and internships

Ongoing

Vacancies from graduates for graduates.

A graduate posts a vacancy or internship at their organisation directly, with no intermediaries or aggregators. A recommendation within the Association carries more weight than an application from a job site — both sides know where the person comes from.

Take part

The Chronicle

In preparation

Collecting photos, documents and stories from all 14 classes.

Every class has photos that exist nowhere else. The Chronicle gathers them into one archive with dates and captions. Only what the people in the picture have consented to is published.

Supporting our own

Case by case

Targeted help for graduates and their families.

Each case is decided by the Coordination Council. The help is one-off and targeted, with no standing collections.

Take part

Project photo galleries will appear once we have our own photos from reunions and meet-ups. There will be no stock photos here.
